I am themeleader ‘Migration and Migrants’ (NIDI) and professor of Migration and the life course (UoGroningen). My research focuses on migration and integration issues, the transition to adulthood of immigrant youth, segregation, and European mobility. In addition to my (inter-)national research projects, I was awarded the 2016 European Demography Award and am president-elect of EAPS.
PROF. DR. HELGA DE VALK
Müge Simsek received her PhD degree in Sociology from University of Utrecht in 2019. In her dissertation, she examined the religious differences between native and immigrant youth and the role of religion in adolescents’ social networks in ethnically and religiously diverse school classes in Western Europe.

Rafael Costa holds a Master’s degree in Population Studies (2009) and a PhD in Social Sciences (2015) from the University of Louvain. He was a senior researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel before joining the MyMove team at the NIDI (2019). His research focuses on spatial demography in Europe.

Joeke Kuyvenhoven has a background in interdisciplinary social sciences and completed the Research Master Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. Her research interests include internal mobility, neighbourhood effects and socio-spatial inequalities. Within the MYMOVE project, her PhD research focuses on the role of the neighbourhood for differential patterns and consequences of childhood internal mobiliy.
Hester Warnaar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is currently a student in the Research Master program Migration, Ethnic Relations and Multiculturalism at the University of Utrecht. Within the MYMOVE project, she will provide practical support.
